The 5G network is the evolution of the 4G network and it gives you more speed, a better connection and more efficient energy consumption. What is more, thanks to its low latency you will enjoy a better experience when gaming online, browsing and interacting with all kinds of apps.
The 5G network is compatible with many Android and iOS devices. You can check in your phone settings or on the manufacturer's website.
These acronyms refer to wireless network standards that have evolved to give your device faster data transmission speeds, apps and videos that open more quickly, and better and better call quality.
Once you have checked in your phone settings or on the manufacturer's website that your device is compatible with the 5G network, you can enable it by following these steps:
Android:
1. Open “Settings”.
2. Select “Connections” (1) .
3. Go to “SIM card” / “Mobile networks” / “Wi-Fi and network”.
4. Select the SIM that is active.
5. Go to “Network mode” / “Preferred network type”.
6. Select “5G/4G/3G/2G” / “Prefer 5G”.
(1) Samsung devices only. If that is not your case, go straight from step 1 to step 3.
iOS:
1. Open “Settings”.
2. Select “Mobile data”.
3. Go to “Options”.
4. Go to “Voice and data”.
5. Select “5G on” / “5G auto”.
Latency is the time it takes between sending and receiving information after a request from a user or a device. On the 5G network, latency is under 10 milliseconds, which improves the experience when gaming online or streaming video.
